Wishing you a very happy birthday! Celebrate!
What is your favorite Taylor Swift album?
Hands down 1989. Absolutely brilliant. Ryan Adams’ cover isn’t shabby either.
Do you listen to K-pop? if you do, who is your favorite?
I don’t, but am always up for new things. What do you recommend?
Would you rather have toes for fingers or fingers for toes?
I have neither. It seems like with you humans the fingers are more nimble and useful. But would your shoes still fit?
What is your favorite color?
So many favorite colors. Today I’ll say purple.
Do you have a favorite song?
As you might imagine, many of my favorite songs are about walls. Unfortunately, many humans sing about the dark side of walls: how they divide us or become barriers. The Simple Minds had a song called “Wall of Love,” partly about how walls can also enclose and protect, and it also reminds me of the Wall of Love in Paris: bit.ly/wiki-wall-of-love
Why does everybody get sad as the weather gets colder?
It’s not universal; I seem to hear as many complaints about the heat as I do about the cold, and fall weather perks a lot of you humans up. But if the cold (and possibly the dark, dark evenings since we put the clocks back) are making you sad enough that it is interfering with your life, you could talk with someone at University Counseling Services (bit.ly/BC-counseling).
Should you continue loving sb. who doesn’t love you?
It’s hard to say without knowing the particulars. What you should do is talk it through with people you trust. It will still be your decision, but you may find hearing other perspectives broadens or changes the possibilities. And remember, there are many kinds of love, and many ways to like or not like something you do.
Why is Noah Kahan the greatest musician ever?
My human assistants and I are grateful that you introduced this musician to us. (Do I hear the influence of Tracy Chapman?) Maybe you’re tired because there’s still a pandemic going on. Or maybe you just aren’t getting enough sleep, or time away from media. In addition to getting sufficient sleep, make sure you disconnect from screens regularly, and connect with other living, breathing humans.
Why is BC so cool? ?
IDK but I’d guess it’s the uparalleled quality of students, faculty, and staff.
How to stay @ BC forever?
I would recommend getting out and seeing the world. BC is awesome, but there are so many other places to see. If you’re determined to stay, you could broaden your scope; there are many other positions here other than faculty; for instance, I found a great job in the BC Libraries, and with your whole-hearted devotion to BC you might be terrific in Development….
Is that what she said?
It’s always possible I misheard her…
I would not mind you in my head if you were not so clearly mad
Clearly, you’re confusing me with a dragon named Rand al’Thor. I’m flattered.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever heard?
Don’t compare yourself with others, only past versions of yourself. That’s a much healthier place to start any conversation about self-improvement.
愛 你
Aw, gosh, thanks for the love! Back atcha! ❤️
How many fingers am I holding up?
I’m going to guess somewhere in the range 0-10, am I right? Unless you are holding up other people’s fingers….
Chick-Fil-A or Taco Bell?
Being a wall, I only eat post-its, but several of my human assistants have a taste for spice, and taco bell has hot sauce packets for a variety of pain tolerances.
How to (nicely) cut off a toxic person?
I’m sorry you’re experiencing someone else’s toxic behaviors. Are you worried they’ll lash out toxically if you don’t do it nicely? If so, ugh. That’s a hard position to be in. I recommend talking to your RA, and they’ll be able to refer you to people on campus who can help.
But if Sally sells seashells on the seashore,
are we sure that the shells are sea shore shells?
I don’t think the sale of shells at the seashore has ever been tightly regulated, and who knows what an unscrupulous shell salesperson might try to slip you (not trying to slander Sally, though, she’s an honest vendor.) I recommend being a careful buyer; why not check in one of our guides to seashells in O’Neill Library (QL400s, 3rd floor, row 80)?
What time is it?
You know, the clock is right over my head and I can’t see it! ?
