You’re welcome!
Would u execute me if I was gay?
No, I would warmly welcome you and be here for you. For more sources of support here at BC, visit: bit.ly/LBGTQBC.
你 认 识 我 吗?
Do I know you? Of course I know you. You’re the person who asked, “Do you know me?” in Chinese. And no, in spite of the comment, you’re not a fool.
How do you type on stickies?
They go through the printer on a sheet of paper – you would think that would be a recipe for disaster, but so far, so good!
你 好 吗?(ni hao ma? )
I’m fine, how are you?
If you were to answer one question, what would it be?
Why?
Dear Wall, How do you feel about your portrayal in Pink Floyd’s famous album?
Comfortably numb. But seriously, it’s not about me; it’s distant family member. I’d rather work toward uniting people than isolating them.
How does one type on a sticky note?
I’m sure you’ve heard that thing before about the probability of a thousand monkeys with typewriters eventually producing all the works of Shakespeare? Well, it’s not like that. This library employs librarians, not monkeys. Librarians might not be as fun as monkeys, but they do know how to find answers, such as how to use a Word template to print onto post-its affixed to pieces of paper, and which font (courier) most closely resembles typewriter font.
¿Me prestáis esta idea del “answer wall” para empezarla en Barcelona? (UPF)
¡Me parece una excelente idea!
Does the answer wall graduate too?
I have finished my formal education; I had to go in front of a Board (she looked just like me) and get certified as an answer wall. But I remain committed to lifelong learning, I hang out in the library all the time. If you’re graduating Monday, come bring your guests by to visit me, and maybe take a selfie!
Why are you a wall and not a chalk board? ?
Because…. fingernails…. oh, the horror!
Going to Aruba this week. Its my brothers wedding. Then summer school to continue my MBA. See Yeah Laters!! ?
Felicitations to your family! Enjoy your tropical break (fantastic idea with the weather we’re having here) and best wishes moving forward with your studies.
Dear Library Answer Wall: Thank you and your librarian friends as well as the BC offices that helped answer MANY questions!
My librarian friends and I will miss you, too, over the summer. It gets wicked quiet here… quiet as… quiet as a library! Have a terrific summer break and see you in late August.
How do y’all type on the stickies?
It’s my best talent! We have a Word Template we use to print onto Post-Its that are stuck on a sheet of paper.
What would you do if we kissed in Plato’s Allegory of the Cave? ?
As a Wall I’m pretty comfortable with people reflecting things on me, it goes with the territory.
We love your website. You should be university president.
Oh, that’s sweet of you. I’m pretty sure I fail on a couple of the minimum job requirements, though. Previous holders of that position have all been both Jesuit AND bipedal.
What’s the strangest thing to happen here this week?
The Wall sees all, tells some.
What are your top 5 walls of all time (in order if possible)?
1. The Great Wall of China. 2. Hadrian’s Wall. 3. John Lennon Wall in Prague bit.ly/bc-lennon-wall. 4. Ishtar Gate, formerly of Babylon bit.ly/bc-ishtar 5. My friend who stands in the entrance at the McMullen Art Museum on campus. bit.ly/bc-mcmullen
this wall is yuuuge
Thank you. I’m not quite as yuuuge as some more famous walls, but I try to be as supportive as my size allows.
Hi Answer Wall, Since you are a wall, what are the things you separate or defend?
Walls don’t only separate and defend. We support, both structurally and (in my case) emotionally. Still, if you insist on thinking of walls as only separating or defending, I would say that I certainly defend the books and people in this building from the elements. I separate levels of the building from one another (what is floor but a sideways wall?). I defend intellectual freedom and anonymity and support those who wish to learn.
