What’s up
Me, some nice paneling, unfortunately not the stock market. You up?
Hi …
Bye
Bye! I will miss you – come back and visit if you can.
How can I become a part of the Answer Wall and help answer questions?!
Keep an eye on me. I like to do special events sometimes.
Hello! I’m a student from RPI and I just wanted to say hi to the Answer Wall!
I’ve had one of my helpers email the head of public services at your library – here’s hoping. You can also talk to the librarians at RPI and let them And thanks for your kind words!
I’m actually from Brandeis, but I agree, BC looks great!
Awwww, shucks. Thanks for the compliment! I was sorry to hear of the sad demise of my distant cousin the Express Yo’self Wall in the Brandeis Library. (bit.ly/brandeis-express-yoself) But you’ve still got plenty of fine walls, yourselves! (bit.ly/bc-brandeis-walls)
Please, won’t you be my neighbor?
I already am. Don’t let the lack of cardigan and tennis shoes fool you.
How long have you been answering questions?
I started answering questions here at BC in early February, 2017. But connecting people with the information they seek has always been my calling, since I was a tiny know-it-all boardling.
What’s your favorite pizza flavor and why?
I don’t actually get to eat (being a wall, and all…) But if I had to choose a pizza flavor, I think I’d choose margherita – so pretty and colorful. I have no idea how it tastes.
Answer Wall you’re marvelous! Will you be my partner??
Awwww, shucks, if I had blood & capillaries I’d be blushing. You might find being my partner a little frustrating; you kind of have to be a wallflower.
Did that person return your sticky note dispenser or did you have to get a new one?
It was returned! I deeply believe that the vast majority of people are honest. It was nice to have that confirmed.
Draw a picture of a small horse
I missed you!
It’s been a little lonely this summer, though we do have summer students visiting. I didn’t go anywhere, but I hope you had a lovely summer.
What’s your actual name?
Lots of library staff contribute to making what you see happen, so there’s no one answer to that. Think of me as a collaborative writing exercise in anthropomorphism.
How many people answer these questions?
Many. My helpers had a meeting recently and it filled a conference room. They also reach out to experts in the library and on campus for lots of questions, and I have other helpers who do the printing and such. No Wall is an island, but I absolutely couldn’t do what I do without lots of help.
One question: Sup!
Not much, really. Very happy to wake up from a long nap to find several days in a row of questions. You?
还好, 还好, 不错 (OK, OK, Not too bad.)
Not too bad, indeed!
Where are you from? I’m from Colombia!
Welcome to BC! I’m from right here! I’m not sure where my constituent materials all came from (oak cabinetry, concrete, brick) but they were all assembled right here in 1984, and my library assistants discovered that I was more than an inanimate structure in 2017.
You got any cute walls in your life?
Funny you should ask. I just met this dazzling wall, bit.ly/BCMargotsWall, brand new to BC, and thought if I wasn’t careful I could fall really hard for that one!
