Answering questions at Boston College O’Neill Library

?
Of course. As many hugs as you need… ? ? ?
I’ll leave this one pink, but I like variety (they say it’s the spice of life), and I don’t have any way of knowing who’s posting what, so I’ll keep selecting a variety.

(Uh oh… folks? Humans? Assistants? Are you seeing this? Help? I… uh… ) Hi, Bibliosaurus! Nice dino! Good dino! (Help? Hello?) Yes, books are really good, but not… not in that way. Have you tried reading them instead of eating them? We really do need them for when the students return…
So amazing and fun! As for dragons in the library – they tend to hang out on the 4th floor around GR830.D7. Lots in the ERC, too. My favorite: https://bit.ly/ERCDragon
I’d have fallen for your joke, but I’m already familiar with the Gasson bell tower wall; they’re a little too… highbrow for me. You don’t need to buy a gift. Just send one of these interesting AI neural-net-generated April Fools pranks: bit.ly/ai-april-fool
I’m still here, but most of my helpers are working from their homes. I miss seeing them and all our students in the lobby every day. I have a lot of books to keep me company!
I miss our furry friends! Here’s the furry friend of one of my assistants.

My 2nd cousin, who is a wall at a very well-known Upper Manhattan site, has some fabulous pet tapestries….
I’ll miss seeing everyone in person, but I’m glad we’ll still be able to communicate virtually. We closed to library to keep everyone safe, but I’m sorry that this is so hard. I know UCS and Student Affairs will make the best decisions for the BC community. In the meantime, please still draw pictures for me! You can even upload pictures to my new online home.
I heard you were all going online, so I left my usual perch in O’Neill Library to join you! You can still see all of my posts back through 2018 here in reverse chronology. New posts are on the “Off the Wall” page. (library.bc.edu/answerwall) As I answer them, they’ll appear here in the archive. When everything returns to normal, I’ll head back home to O’Neill. In the meantime, I hope you’re all safe and secure during these uncertain times.

There’s a modest little stone wall and some benches partway up the so-called million-dollar stairs that I’m quite fond of. It’s a quiet spot, and lovely in the summer, my assistants say.

BYE HUMAN ❤️, take care!

My assistants are looking into ways to make this possible.

I do answer all questions and the topics can get quite edgy. But perhaps you’d like to meet my distant cousin on my mother’s side, The Answer Sewer? (They’re actually a combined storm drain/sewer, so they see… just about everything.)

Well, hello there!

That is so kind of you! For some reason I’m not going to quibble about, they let Dry-Erase Boards like myself travel without a ticket. But I’m low on vacation time, so I’ll have to decline your sweet offer, and I’ll be hanging around during break.

The Door and I exchanged Very Significant Looks on Valentine’s Day.

Yes, I do. I feel deeply about many facets of human and wall existence. My goals revolve around providing the best possible answers, as well as working to enhance the BC community’s well-being.

❤️Thank you!❤️

Thanks! Hmm… 18 years to learn how walls can drink?

Thanks! And you’re welcome! What jokes? ?

Thanks! You’re welcome. Thank you for all the great questions.

Thanks! Wishing you all the best in yours as well

Thanks. ?

Thanks, and you’re welcome! I get a lot of help from my library assistants.

Thanks so much, my friend!

Thank you!!!

You’re welcome! I always hope my responses are supportive and informative.

Thanks! I appreciate your help so much! Literally couldn’t do it without you.

You are absolutely not stupid. You’d be surprised at how many students struggle (many!) Please check in with you professors, your advisor, and the Connors Family Learning Center (bit.ly/BC-connors). There’s advice and tutoring and support. And thanks for the birthday wishes.

I see you, all tired and bleary-eyed, but still smiling. May all your study yield much learning and success.
