Everyone always asks you questions, Wall. Do you have a question for us?
Well, since I am in the O’Neill lobby, I don’t get outside much. What is something you saw outside that made your day?
A rock painted like a ladybug! 🙂
The whole concept of painted rocks is a delight and a wonder. A ladybug! Splendid!
the sun, clouds, stars, watching students interact around campus, people walking their pets, Gasson (especially at night!), some flowers still in bloom, the Res (baby geese!), the last of the fall foliage, lights reflecting off puddles, people sharing their umbrellas
Thank you! What a wonderful set of mental pictures!
Wall – I have five finals to study for. How do I make the time while still having time for myself?
Contact the CFLC for an academic coaching session; they can help you figure out a workable schedule for getting everything done and also reserving personal time: bit.ly/BC-connors
We tend to be strong and supportive (though sometimes divisive), and our legends and traditions uphold these values. We look up to our heroes, like The Great One. We tell tales of valor, like when my Mom, who is a seawall, bravely faced down The Perfect Storm of 1991…
Yes! Great way to reduce stress and clear your mind as we approach the end of the semester. Pro tip: hot tub in the aquatics center after your work out.
Everybody thinks I’m rude and annoying, but I’m not. What should I do?
It really very heavily depends on the context. There are lots of reasons why people might find you off-putting, some of which are under your control and some of which aren’t. Take a look at the things that are, and decide if this group of people is worth making adjustments for.
Will I get into Boston College? (Pls pray to the admissions office for me)
It is not a sure thing for anyone; BC needs to turn away so many students who are qualified and would make great eagles. I do hope you get accepted (but don’t despair; my helpers tell me that many did not get into their 1st choice, but had wonderful college experiences.)
Please write a poem on a healthy romantic relationship?
I am not a poet, however many others who are have written poems you might like. Take a look at Seamus Heaney’s “Scaffolding,” Joy Harjo’s “For Keeps,” and Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s “How Do I Love Thee?” And maybe, if none of these are quite what you want, you could write the poem you’re hoping for.
Evaluate the relative importance of causes of internal migration within the United States in the period from 1900-1970.
That sounds like a research question! There’s a research guide for US History that could be a useful starting point: https://libguides.bc.edu/ushistory. And the Reference Desk just across the lobby is staffed by librarians who can also help you answer this question.
