You should go to University Health Services if the source of the rash is unknown or the symptoms are severe. Many rashes go away if the area is kept clean, dry and free of chemicals and cosmetics, but if the rash doesn’t improve, definitely see UHS. Oh, and don’t scratch it -that can cause infections or spread the rash.
Does study abroad cost a lot? I want to go but my family is struggling to pay the tuition @ BC already.
It isn’t necessarily more expensive than staying at BC; please talk to the OIP Scholarship Advisor (bit.ly/BCAbroadFinances) before you decide it’s not possible for you.
I got BC-look-awayed… what do I do?? [Live with it.]
Human interaction is hard! You could gently confront him/her, or you could reciprocate the look-away. Your choice; the former is braver, and if s/he is just shy or unsure of what to say to you, may lead to getting to know each other better. One more thought – it’s also possible s/he didn’t recognize you; prosopagnosia (faceblindness) is a very real thing.
How do I: 1) Get a calc tutor? 2) Go get a checkup w/university health service? Ya boi has stomach pains.
For the calc, contact the Connors Family Learning Center at 2-0611, and for the pains, you can book an appt online (bit.ly/BostonCollegeHealth) or call 2-3225. I hope you feel better and can soon differentiate and integrate with ease…
Could someone effectively use a swordfish as a weapon?
While it may be difficult to use a whole swordfish as a weapon, people have used the swordfish sword or bill effectively as a weapon. See a recent academic article about penetrating chest injuries using a swordfish sword (http://bit.ly/swordfishweapon). Also, in 2010, a couple of Australian men had a drunken fight in which one used a swordfish bill as a weapon (http://bit.ly/swordfishbillweapon).
If Yelp isn’t cutting it for you, you could try Boston Magazine’s Best of Boston lists. http://bit.ly/bc-bob. Improper Bostonian has one that includes a little more on clubs: http://bit.ly/bc-ib
Is nutrition counselling free? (one-on-one and group sessions)

stop using a different font! ur ruining the aesthetic!!
So sorry to damage my carefully created aesthetic! My assistants are telling me my font broke. I didn’t even know fonts could break, and I’m not sure I believe them. They claim they’ve glued the serifs back on, and it shouldn’t happen again. I guess I just have to trust them.
A piece of advice regarding a famous american novel I could read? Thanks
The best piece of advice would be to read more than one! There are many lists of best American novels available online. Some favorites that seem to show up on most of the lists are “To Kill a Mockingbird” (PS3562 .E353 T6 1960), “The Great Gatsby” (PS3511 .I9 G74 1980Z), “The Grapes of Wrath” (PS3537 T3234 G8 1989), “Beloved” (available online), and “Invisible Man” (PS3555 .L625 .I5 1995). Happy reading!
“Confidence” derives from the Latin fidere, to trust, so self-confidence = to trust and have faith in yourself. First make sure you take care of yourself: eat right, get enough sleep, get some exercise, comb your hair in the morning. Think about your strengths and what you have achieved in the past. Then think about how you can use your strengths to accomplish some of your goals. To get yourself going, start with smaller goals (take a yoga class; throw a small party; talk to that cute person who sits next to you in class). The more you succeed, the more self-confident you will become. If something doesn’t work out, learn from it and try a different strategy. If you’re ever at the point where it’s all too much though, Counseling Services (bit.ly/BC-counseling) can be of help. I know I have faith in you (and you should too)! <3 <3 <3
How to lose weight at BC when there is so much tempting unhealthy food?
An Individual Health Plan (iHP) appointment (bit.ly/BCOHPIHP) with the Office of Health Promotion sounds like just the thing. They can talk to you about your goals and discuss strategies to eat healthier.
Though I don’t speak Tagalog myself, I have a huge network of expert linguists at the ready. I’m sorry you’re having financial woes, especially so early in the semester! I recommend finding an understanding ear (perhaps at AHANA: bit.ly/BC-BAIC) and setting up a meeting with a financial counselor (bit.ly/BC-fin-aid). Once you’ve found better financial footing, it might help to learn more about financial literacy: bit.ly/BCSuccessfulStart. Kaya mo ‘yan!
According to Statistics Canada, in 2016 there were about 3,732,555 beef cows (bit.ly/bc-beef-cows) and 939,071 milk cows (bit.ly/bc-milk-cows). The beef cows are mostly out west, and the milk cows in the east.
What do we do if we’re too cute for homework??? <3
Then it’s a really good thing that in college you have a bunch of different assignments (essays, readings, discussions, papers, projects, etc.) and not homework! 🙂 Seriously, there’s a lot more work to do in the college setting and you will need to be able to figure out how best you can address it all. The Connors Family Learning Center (bit.ly/BC-connors) has lots of great resources to add to that cuteness so you can do the best you can. P.S. I actually think all of the students who pass by me are kinda cute. <3 <3 <3
What are some good books on how to read better/be more analytical?
For being more analytical: Thinking Fast and Slow, by Daniel Kahneman (O’Neill Library BF441 .K238 2011). For reading: How to Read a Book, by Mortimer J. Adler (O’Neill Library & Theology & Ministry Library PN83 .A43 1972) For other, more practical recommendations, I’d advise a visit to the Academic Coach at the Connors Family Learning Center: bit.ly/BC-connors
Why do I feel like such a misfit? Why do I feel like no one cares about my feelings?
Sigh… we all feel these things, but most people, wanting to project an image of total competence & happiness, don’t say so. Sometimes I feel like a weird, dimly lit wall that doesn’t really fit in with other walls, and at those times, I feel lonely, like other walls don’t care. I recommend pursuing your interests to the utmost & not worrying about whether you fit in. But feeling like nobody cares about you is another issue; if it’s hard to shake that feeling, I recommend seeking counseling of some kind. bit.ly/BC-counseling
What are good summer internships in Portland, OR? BC doesn’t have much online outside the East coast!
The Career Center offers this list of resources for finding internships nationwide: bit.ly.internship-list. If you are still having trouble, try contacting the Career Center directly for some assistance: bit.ly/BC-career. Good luck; I know it can be difficult to find the perfect internship when you’re far away, but you have my best wishes and support (that’s what we walls do best, you know).
