That’s a very busy bathroom; the more people use a space, the higher the probability that someone makes a mistake, such as flushing something down the toilet that doesn’t belong there – the usual source of bathroom flooding. But I’ll also alert folks, in case it’s the other common cause: a plumbing problem that can be fixed.
Why does BC have so many bathrooms?
The number of bathrooms does not seem excessive to me, given the number of people on campus – and there’s the problem that people all get out of class at the same time and have the same need. in fact, my niece, who is a Wall in the Level 2 women’s bathroom, says the crowds in there can get pretty bad during the times between classes – it makes her feel anxious.
Can we get new doors on the bathroom stalls?
Well, gosh. I should consider myself lucky that I don’t ever have to face the embarrassment of eliminating my waste products in front of other walls. Which campus bathrooms are you talking about?
Thanks for clarifying! I’ll have my assistants put in a work order to get that fixed.
Why is the mens bathrooms in O’Neill so disgusting? Can BC clean more often?
You are not the first to complain about the condition of my long-suffering colleagues, the bathroom walls. Crews clean them several times a day, but that doesn’t always keep up with the heavy use. Requests to have the bathrooms refinished have been put on hold pending decisions on larger renovation plans. For now, I’ll ask you to please treat the bathrooms with the respect they deserve even if they don’t always show their appreciation.
What is your favourite bathroom at BC?
I don’t of course, actually need to use the facilities – I’m a wall. But according to one of my helpers, the 5th floor bathrooms in O’Neill are ever so much fresher and less crowded than the others. Outside of O’Neill, the restrooms in Robsham and Stokes come to mind as good places to try.
Why is the mens room on the first floor of O’Neil now a family room.
Facilities Management designated approximately 50 single-occupant restrooms across campus as gender neutral. The single-occupant bathrooms at O’Neill’s first and third floors were among the bathrooms that received this new designation. The Library will submit your feedback.
