I’m a senior that needs to overload next year to graduate on time.

If I have above a 3.0, can I just register for the 6th course during add/drop week or do I need to go talk to someone for approval before registering?

It looks like you can go ahead and add the course either if your cumulative gpa is at least 3.0 or your prior semester was at least 3.0. However, I advise you to talk to your adviser right away, to make sure there aren’t any other potential bars to an overload. Policy: bit.ly/BC-academic-policy

I’m a senior + need to overload to graduate. anyway to register for a 6th class before the 1st week of next semester?

I confirmed with the Academic Advising Center that you do need to wait until then. They also wanted to let you know that if you have below a 3.0, you would need to get an overload approval form filled out and signed by the Academic Dean.

Should I overload?

That’s a tough one. Do you have a very good reason for wanting to do so? Do you feel you have the time to give each course the attention it needs, and to be able to learn as effectively as you would with a normal course load? Talk these things over with your academic advisor.
