I’m not a canon lawyer, so I really can’t give advice. I will say that it’s awkward when the documents (most of Origen’s many works) you’d want to retry the case were destroyed 1600 years ago. Like with all things it helps to take time for self-care, lean on friends and family, and do the best you can with what you have.

Nature is the most ethereal to me. A favorite flower or tree would be beautiful. If you have a favorite myth, or fairytale, or fantasy tale I hope you consider those for inspiration! I love a good fawn or a unicorn too.

There is a free Salem Heritage Trail, which takes you around Salem’s sights. I’ve also heard great things about Peabody Essex Museum and Wicked Good Books. As a side note, my assistants tell me that going to Salem during the month of October is too crowded to enjoy, but I’m sure it feels atmospheric for Halloween.

I think it depends on what you’re looking for. I often ask my campus friends when I need more information, and so many asking seniors in the mods now would help you decide.

I always encourage people looking for friendships on campus to join a BC club (list on this page: bc.edu/osi). It’s a great way of finding people that have at least one thing in common with you. Goodness is a subjective concept, but in my opinion compassion and kindess are qualities we can all strive for to be good to each other and ourselves.

Just remember that you are sufficient, and you have everything you need within you. And make sure you have contact info for every friend and assure them (and yourself) you won’t let go of them. One of my library helpers is still close to college friends 35 years later.

It’s always good to see people share love.

It’s important to remember that loneliness is a feeling, and feelings come and go. If you’d like to be with other people: call family, call old friends, call new friends, do things with new friends. Make friends by chatting with people who live near you, or are behind you in line at the Chocolate Bar, or if you’re a BC student, by joining BC clubs that interest you. I hope one of these helps alleviate those feelings!
