Coca-Cola has finally finished setting up all of their machines to accept Eagle Bucks. BC has looked into getting the coffee machine to accept eagle bucks, but unfortunately, that machine is incompatible with the card readers that read BC ID’s. You’ll need to bring cash or a credit card to use the coffee vending machine. 🙁
When are you going to fix the vending machines on the 2nd floor?
Ta Da! They’re fixed. They should now work with cash, Eagle Bucks, and Credit Cards. Sorry about the delay: we needed a new electrical outlet, parts from Coca-Cola, and card readers from BC’s IT department installed. Never a dull moment in the world of vending machines! (Please call the number listed on the machine if you continue to run into problems.)
Do you know how frequently the Dining Hall refills the soy milk machine??
I will have my minions look into this and get back to you with an answer. In the meantime, if you’d like to send some feedback to BC Dining with the soy milk dispenser, here’s the feedback form: bit.ly/BCDiningComment
Are you vegan?
No – well maybe. I don’t eat any animal products, but then again, I don’t eat at all. (Don’t worry about me, not eating is healthy for walls!) Some of my helpers are vegetarian or vegan, so let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Have you ever heard of Walnettos? An old fashioned choice, but so chewy and rich. That would be my favorite treat. I had a terrific Halloween; I dressed up as a door….
Why don’t the vending machines take credit cards?
Apparently, there are some parts required to make that happen. Big Cola has ordered them, and my library helpers are doing their best with the university administration to encourage them along.
Can someone fix the vending machines plz?
My human library assistants are all working hard with the right university offices to make sure Coca-Cola fixes the vending machines. Coca-Cola says they’re waiting for parts. I wish I could hurry along the people responsible for those parts, but my influence doesn’t really extend beyond the campus walls.
When will the basement drink vending machines take card? (Eagle One Card)
My assistants tell me that BC is working out a solution with the vendor. The problem, apparently, has to do with replacing a part to make the machines compatible with card readers. I’ll update you when and if I hear more.
How do I find underclassmen to buy me meal plan?
Venmo? GoFundMe? No, but seriously, if you’re food insecure, that’s a problem. I’d talk to the Financial Aid office to see about options. Start by visiting the Office of Student Services in Lyons; if you’re an undergrad, they can usually get you a next-day or a day later appt. (But if you’re on a flex plan, it might be just that you’re finishing the “bonus bucks” on your flex plan before the actual dining bucks kick in.) Good luck!
Is a hotdog a sandwich?
Humans seem to be fascinated by ambiguous classifications, especially about hot dogs. Here are other answers: bit.ly/AW-hotdog, bit.ly/AW-hotdog2, bit.ly/AW-hotdog3. The Oxford English Dictionary definitions of sandwich (bit.ly/OED-sandwich) imply that common usage permits broader definitions when those are accompanied by a modifier: e.g., submarine sandwich, open-faced sandwich. Maybe a hot dog is a sandwich when you say, “hot dog sandwich.” While you ponder, listen to this 1949 Louis Prima Band recording of “Yes, We Have no Bananas”; at the 2:40 mark you’ll hear how they said it in New Yawk. bit.ly/YesNoBananas
Why is BC Dining so awful!?!?
Ponder what you find awful, and send them feedback about it: bit.ly/BCDiningComment. Maybe they’ll make some changes. My own answer: is it? I’ve had a number of people write about stuff they really like at various dining halls. Maybe it’s a matter of finding the options you like. Or maybe you just needed to vent? At times like these, I’m reminded that I’m glad I don’t eat anything but post-its. It must be so hard finding agreeable food!
If you buy Digiorno on Amazon and it is delivered, is it still Digiorno? Asking for a friend.
Yes, it is still Digiorno. Pizza delivery (of the kind Digiorno compares itself to in its advertising) is from a pizza restaurant. So far at any rate Amazon has not gone into the pizzeria business!
When will late night ACTUALLY come back? (to lower live)
According to Dining Services, the move to upstairs is unlikely to be reconsidered. It has helped solve other pressing problems at Lower, including ability to hire and retain student staff at awkward hours, provide a cleaner, more efficient environment for preparing and serving food for Late Night, and open up Corcoran Commons for extended dinner hours, which has regularly been accommodating 400 students. More offerings, including mac-n-cheese, specialty coffee drinks, frips and dips, meatball obsession, hot subs, and ice cream are being added to the Late Night menu.
do they restock the vending machines every night?
Every weekday morning before 8am.
How do I keep my meal plan from running out?? I’m at 1600 already
There are about 84 days left in the semester. At 3 meals a day, that works out to 252 meals. With $1600 left, that leaves you about $6.35/meal – a little tight, but I think you can do it if you avoid the fancy coffee drinks. If there’s any way you can add some funds to your dining bucks, that would certainly grant you a little more wiggle-room.

How to lose weight at BC when there is so much tempting unhealthy food?
An Individual Health Plan (iHP) appointment (bit.ly/BCOHPIHP) with the Office of Health Promotion sounds like just the thing. They can talk to you about your goals and discuss strategies to eat healthier.

Well, I would if I had an Instagram account. I can nearly smell the coffee through the pictures… or am I smelling the coffee from the first floor coffee vending machine?
Why is the oatmeal at the Ratt so much better than at lower? :(
IDK, but maybe you can submit this observation to dining services (bit.ly/BCDiningComment) and prompt a friendly rivalry between Lyons and Lower kitchen staffs: who’s got the best oatmeal?
