If the food remains in his mouth, he will still go to bed hungry. So, wake him up and make him swallow.
The boxer or the singer? I don’t eat, which is part of how I keep my slim profile, so I don’t really have an opinion about poblanos. Lots of people like them, though.
As a Wall with limited gastronomical variety (I only eat post-its), appetizing pictures of food aren’t a big interest for me, but I suspect many of my assistants & viewers would enjoy tantalizing themselves with pictures of delicious meals & desserts & clicking through to the restaurants where they can eat them.
Most toddlers’ gas is not much different than an adult’s gas, however toddlers may not have control over their gas, and therefore it may be more noticable. However, if a toddler has very foul smelling gas, it could be signs of a digestive track problem or allergy- a visit to the doctor may be in order.
Alas! The library has no control over the vending machines. They are serviced by vending companies who contract with the BC office called Auxiliary Services, who has steadily been working with those companies to have machines updated to accpet Eagle ID’s. If the machine should take some other form of payment (i.e., cash) but doesn’t, please call the toll-free service number on the machine.
I bet lots of students would go cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs @ Lower. Suggest it to them! bit.ly/BCDiningComment
Hm, being who I am, I don’t often have much of an appetite for anything but post-its. For post-its, I will gladly stand in this location indefinitely.
According to the General Manager at Lyons, the appearance of chocolate muffins is random, but frequent. So, you’re not going to be able to put it on your calendar, but hopefully you can get one soon. Sounds delicious!
Coca-Cola? Though it is delicious, there is no safe amount to drink. It is loaded with sugar and has been linked to many health conditions including diabetes, obesity, and cavities. Water on the other hand is wonderfully healthy and hydrating. I do hope you weren’t asking about cocaine, but if you were the only safe amount is nothing – zero, zilch, nada.
I know at least one member of the O’Neill staff who lives on the stuff, but individual taste does vary. You could send feedback to Dining Services at bit.ly/BCDiningComment. BTW… how do you know what Elmer’s glue tastes like…?
As a wall, I’ve never eaten anything, much less a burger. But my helpers inform me that taste is very context-dependent. One helper had been camping and hiking for 2 months straight eating only pre-packaged food before winding up at a burger joint in Washington DC. He remembers that burger was the best thing he’d ever tasted. But when he went back there a couple years later, it was very mediocre. There is no best burger – smash burgers, fancy burgers, fast food, greasy diners – all of these burgers have their place. If you’re really itching to hunt for the best one in Boston, check out this list from Eater: bit.ly/bostonBurgers
The folks in Auxiliary Services said Coke is in the process of replacing all the Eagle Card readers with new ones that accept both credit cards and Eagle Cards, and that they’re about halfway through the process. If there’s a particular machine that should accept Eagle ID’s and doesn’t (accepted payments are identified with stickers), contact the vending company via the phone number on the machine. Soon, the snack company will also be updating their machines to accept Eagle IDs.
I’ve contacted BC Dining and asked them. If they dish about your dish, so will I.
Update, 2-6-19: Dining Services responds, “We love to help give answers to your wall, unfortunately, this request is not that simple. The mac and cheese at the Bean Counter is an item that we spent two years developing with a co-packer. This means it is specific to BC
Alas, the only seafood restaurant close by is Legal Seafood over at the Street, which fortunately does do a good job. Other possibilities that are nearby (but may be difficult to get to without transportation) are Steamers at 311 Watertown Street in Newton, and Shaking Crab, also in Newton at 203 Adams Street. There are many good seafood restaurants if you want to hop on the T and go in town though, such as the classic Union Oyster House.
Being a wall, my diet is composed almost entirely of post-its, though I do also enjoy the scents of food wafting through the library, and potatoes are a favorite in that department. Many of my human assistants enjoy potatoes. One has a partner who claims to have eaten potatoes prepared 52 different ways. The Potato in the Human Diet (O’Neill Library TX558.P8 W63 1987) says potatoes are grown in 132 of 167 independent countries. For the potato-obsessed, I must recommend reading Potato: a history of the propitious esculent. (O’Neill Library SB211 .P8 R43 2009).
Let Dining Services know what you’d like to see by leaving them a comment: bit.ly/BCDiningComment. Please keep in mind that cost and how easy it is to cook for LOTS of people are just a couple of the things they’re juggling in planning menus.
If I ate, I think I’d be drawn to the fries and those chocolate chip cookies the size of your head in the dining halls, but there are healthier choices available, like the soups and salad bar at Lower. You might want to make an appointment with the Office of Health Promotion (bit.ly/BC-health-promo); they can set you up with an Individual Health Plan (iHP) to eat healthier.
