Because baseball is a game of inches. Because draft picks. Because pitching. Baseball giveth, and baseball taketh away. Don’t worry, they’ll rock this town again.
Joan Harris’s rise from secretarial pool to starting her own production company, and the struggle that kind of rise took for a woman in the 60’s, makes for a really compelling storyline. Don Draper is interesting, of course, but also… who really relates to someone who literally invented an entire past? Everyone carries around secrets and lies, but to that degree? He was always too far from upstanding for this wall to relate to.

Comfortably numb. But seriously, it’s not about me; it’s distant family member. I’d rather work toward uniting people than isolating them.
It is a lot quieter in summer, but there are still things going on. Check out bit.ly/BCEventCal, look for flyers in the O’Neill Atrium, maybe visit the McMullen Museum? It’s also a great time to get off campus and take in all that Boston has to offer.
I happen to be acquainted with a game theorist. He applies game theory to football pools and wins big every year. Few pools allow him, because word has gotten around that with him in the pool, nobody else stands a chance. But he never bets on baseball. There are too many variables: too many games, too many potential pitcher-batter match-ups, winds & humidity that affect home run potential, minor injuries… I mean, a hangnail can kill a pitcher’s ERA! There’s just no way to tell, which is why baseball is the best sport: just as in life, you never know what will happen. Go, Sox! (In the meantime, check out The fix is in: A history of baseball gambling and game fixing scandals, by Daniel Ginsburg. O’Neill Library GV863.A1 G58 1995.)
YES, I know of it. It’s a little before my time (I was built in 1987) but some of my library helpers recall that episode fondly. For those who are curious: bit.ly/tip-cheers.
Is he though? It might be too early to say. You don’t know how these young players will shape up: maybe he sees something in them we don’t. Then again, maybe he blew it. I think we’ll all know by October.
They’ve got two games & have to win both. We’ll know tonight or Sunday. I’m nervous, but rooting for you & the Rockets!
I am a wall between the viewing public and spoilers. I’ve heard it’s worth seeing. That is all.
It’s all a little confusing, but the story seems to be that the rapper XXXTentacion invented the word before he was shot & killed last summer. Jenesis Sanchez had a baby early this year she claims is his (and is willing to get a DNA test to prove it), and named him Gekyume.
The boxer or the singer? I don’t eat, which is part of how I keep my slim profile, so I don’t really have an opinion about poblanos. Lots of people like them, though.
At this point there are two very strong candidates: Ajax and Barcelona. Ajax is playing remarkably well right now. However, I think Barcelona will win it.

As a Wall with limited gastronomical variety (I only eat post-its), appetizing pictures of food aren’t a big interest for me, but I suspect many of my assistants & viewers would enjoy tantalizing themselves with pictures of delicious meals & desserts & clicking through to the restaurants where they can eat them.
Defining the “best offensive season of all time” is one of those types of debates for which there will never the a single answer (like Bron vs. Jordan). BUT Curry’s 2015-2016 MVP season was dominant in pretty much every aspect. If you want to read more about some of the all-time stats he beat during that season, check out bit.ly/CurryMVPSeason
I work nights, so I didn’t see the performance, but I’d definitely say there’s something to that based on this one: bit.ly/bc-trifonov
I mean…one clutch (and I do mean C.L.U.T.C.H.) shot doesn’t equal averaging a triple double over the course of the season. Russ is a great player, and will only get better. It’s worth noting that I agree with Kerr that Westbrook’s “next question” is a kind of BS way to treat the media in a business where you’re paid to entertain (queue old man shaking fist image). And Lillard is def a more sympathetic person in this story. So: Who’s the better player? Russ no doubt. Who am I stoked for winning this round? Dame for sure.
