Given that the BC football team was in the Top 25 earlier in the season, I can understand how a lot of folks feel really disappointed with how things have gone this year. It seems as if there’s a growing number of fans who believe the team can and should be doing better. A few of the team’s defeats were by 7 points or less, so one can hope the team is capable of getting more wins in the future.
They can be? I suppose the concern here is that an actor could act like they are interested in you even when they’re not. In reality, there are plenty of people that aren’t actors by trade that can be good at acting or faking emotions (part of the definition of psychopathy is the ability to do this). And there are plenty of bad actors that try to make a living out of it. Actor, as a profession, doesn’t tell you anything about whether the person wears their heart on their sleeve, is private, controlling, manipulative, loving, introspective, etc. People run a wide gamut, and their chosen profession usually doesn’t tell you much about them more an any stereotype about any other group of people.
I’m touched by the invitation! I will be there in spirit; please let me know what you thought of it.
Disney employs some good songwriters. From Dumbo to Frozen, it’s a rare Disney film without a few good numbers.
So tempting for any classic animation enthusiast, and lots of newer content as well. But I think I’ll be content with what the library offers me (and you): Popular movies on DVD right next to me, lots more DVDs across the lobby (check the catalog at library.bc.edu), and all the streaming options on this guide: bit.ly/StreamBC.
THE BEST! For those who don’t know The Legend of 1900, it’s a treat of a film. Watch a clip: bit.ly/1900-storm-dance. You can also check out the full film and watch it: O’Neill Library, near Reference Collection, 3rd Floor: PN1997 .L4446 2002
My inside source on all things Kofi (his Dad!) says that unfortunately there is nothing currently scheduled, but will try to let you know if anything is coming up.
Probs Construction. I am a wall after all.
I think he looks relatively like him. Close enough for a good actor anyway.
Hmm, what do you mean by that? By “sub-terraine,” are you referring someone who lurks in the depths of the internet, or elsewhere on campus? The Wall would love to help, if you can clarify a bit more on your situation! If you don’t care to elaborate but feel that you’re in danger, you can always reach out to BC’s Sexual Assault Network 24-hour hotline at 617-552-2211. If this is actually a question about the game Battle Cats, you can find some tips here: bit.ly/battle-cats-subterranean
I just listened to “Candy.” She’s an appealing J-Pop singer, with some jazzy depth beneath the sugar coating. I’m not sure what her Spotify numbers are like, but views on YouTube are modest. Of course, this likely a misrepresentation of popularity in Japan, where most people still listen to cd’s.
Sounds like a cool idea, but I doubt you’ll catch many gators in Chestnut Hill. The nuisance species here seems to be the wild turkey.
I’m not sure if you’re referring to dollar bills, certain bills that can be found on Capitol Hill, or the football team based in Buffalo, NY that plays their home games in Orchard Park. Regardless, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm!
I couldn’t watch after the wall was breached. I just couldn’t, I’m sorry. So I have no take on GOT ssn 8.
Sigh… the same reason anyone loses The Game of Inches between closely matched teams: making decisions under pressure that only in hindsight will have been obviously wrong. (Should Kershaw have been pulled for a righty? In hindsight, well, of course.)
Seriously, after enjoying James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a little wall, those short stories – especially that one – were quite a shock. Although there were some pretty harsh elements even in his children’s lit, including Aunt Spiker and Aunte Sponge… and their fate. We have many works by and about Dahl; check the catalog at library.bc.edu.
If you’re referring to freestyle rapping, I’m afraid not. There’s a growing consensus amongst hip-hop fans that the days of freestyling are coming to an end or have already ended. There are probably some artists who may have the ability to do so, but you may have to do a lot of digging to discover them. One of my library friends seems to think Black Thought of The Roots may be one example of an artist who engages in what can be considered freestyling. Here’s a link to one performance done on a radio show some time ago: bit.ly/radio-freestyle
Maybe you could play some Tatsuro Yamashita (one of the most popular artists in the city pop genre) somewhere on campus (not a library!) and see who recognizes it & joins you. I’m a new fan! bit.ly/yamashita-pocket
Dance for me dance for me dance for me… a catchy enough tune that it almost makes the walls dance! (But careful, it could become an earworm!)
Tough choice between two good quarterbacks. One of my library friends seems to think Lamar Jackson is a slightly better option. As of the time of responding to this question, The Ravens are tied for the lead in points scored so far this season with 110. The rest of the AFC North doesn’t look very strong right now, so that could lead to more victories later on. Some concerns are that the Ravens’ game against the Dolphins may have made them look better than they are, and ending a drive by letting Mark Ingram try and rush for a TD has been pretty effective so far. Choosing to end a drive by handing the ball off could mean less points for Jackson going forward, but if he’s able to consistently lead his team down the field with his arm or his legs he should be able to rack up a lot of points both on the field and in fantasy football.
