I understand your frustration; student services are overburdened. BC has been directing more resources over the years towards support resources for students, from roughly $32 million in 1994 to $65 million in 2019. (Look at the numbers: bit.ly/BC-finances). Simultaneously, a nationwide trend of students needing more support means all colleges are having a hard time keeping up. Though a comparison with $ for new sports facilities seems apt, funds for new buildings come from a completely different pot of money: capital campaigns via donations from alumni, which also funded the new Recreation Center, and the new Schiller institute building going up next to the statue of St. Ignatius.
