Wells, Joseph Collins, 1813-1860
Joseph C. Wells was an English-born architect who practiced between 1839-1860 in New York City. He was a founding member of the American Institute of Architects in 1857. He was the designer of the Newport Congregational Church (1855-57); this church was painted and fitted with stained glass windows by John La Farge in 1880.
