Working Lives Volume Two: 1945-77 Item Info

Title:
Working Lives Volume Two: 1945-77
Description:
Working Lives Volume Two: Hackney 1945-77 is a collection of autobiographical stories written by working people in Hackney, following World War II. The majority of the stories in the book are transcribed from recorded interviews with working class individuals. As part of a larger project of documenting working life in Hackney in the post-war period, the stories span the decades to capture both past and present working conditions that service workers experience. Each narrative is accompanied by black and white photographs that relate to the people, places, and events recounted by the authors. The book is the second in a series of works produced by the People’s Autobiography of Hackney group.
