- Title:
- Home Truths
- Description:
- Home Truths is a collection of poetry, short stories, drawings, and photographs generated by women in a Manchester-based writing workshop affiliated with the Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers (FWWCP). The introduction explains that the title of the collection is meant to "express the style of writing we were interested in promoting"-- work that explores the texture and nuance of the ordinary, daily, lived experience of women as a way to challenge the "Literary Giants, long-time usurpers of the national heritage." Themes explored include gender, motherhood, the relationship between social position and power, domestic work, friendship, emotional labor, and work both inside and outside the domestic sphere.
