- Batchelor was born in South Wales to a Welsh nurse and a police sergeant. She started writing at the age of seven and specifically enjoyed writing poems and stories about nature. While she still enjoys writing, she takes it more seriously now, feeling that, as a woman, she has something to share beyond what is expected of her.
