INFORMATION FOR ARTH3344 STUDENTS
Some images on this site are designated as "private." These are copyrighted images, or images that we have licensed for educational use at Boston College, that we are making available only to those enrolled in the class. For your class, you will be creating exhibits – within the Omeka platform that hosts this website – using the images on this website, as well as others that you might upload to it. Be aware that any "private" images you include within your exhibits will not be viewable to users not enrolled in the class – for instance, if you were to provide the URL for your exhibit as part of a graduate school admission application.
When making your exhibits available to those not enrolled in the course, consider including a statement such as the following, which will demonstrate to your viewers that you have considered both the privileges of rights-holders and the doctrine of fair use:
"Images included in this portfolio are in the public domain or are included on the basis of fair use. Questions may be addressed to [your email address]."
